St. James Preschool
3 Year-old Pre-kindergarten
This play-based curriculum focuses on hands-on learning through a combination of creativity, exploration and group activities. The children are provided opportunities to develop their cognitive, language, motor, and social skills in a nurturing, learning environment.
Children in the 3 year-old program need to turn 3 by September 1st. This session meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-11:00 AM.
3/4 Year-old Pre-kindergarten
Our curriculum encompasses language development, spatial and number concepts, art and music, appreciation, nature and science, visual and auditory discrimination, and social personal growth.
Children in the 3/4 year-old program need to turn 3 or 4 by September 1st. This session meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-11:00 AM.
4/5 Year-old Pre-kindergarten
This program is designed to offer a variety of learning experiences focusing on important skills in preparation for kindergarten. While the curriculum is designed similar to the morning program, the children will have additional opportunities for enriched activities and exploration in a faith-filled environment.
Children in the 4/5 year-old program meet Monday through Thursday from 12:30-3:00 PM. Extended care is available.

3 & 4 Year-old Pre-kindergarten
Our curriculum encompasses language development, spatial and number concepts, art and music appreciation, nature and science, visual and auditory discrimination, and social personal growth.
This program is designed to offer a variety of learning experiences focusing on important skills in a faith filled environment. 4 year-olds will have additional opportunities for enrichment activities in preparation for kindergarten.
Children in this program need to turn 3 or 4 years old by September 1st. This session meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:30-11:00 AM.
4 Year-old Kindergarten Program
A free program in collaboration with the Altoona School District with an optional religious component offered at the beginning of each class time.
This program is designed to offer a variety of learning experiences focusing on important skills in preparation for kindergarten.
Children in the 4K program need to turn 4 years old by September 1st and reside in the Altoona School District. This session meets Monday through Thursday from 12:15-3:25 PM. Extended care is available.
